Established in 1994

The name Matilda is inspired by the movie "The Professional," which was released in theaters as the bar was finished being built in 1994. After one of the many long days of construction (and just a little bit of drinking), the original owner swears on his life that he saw a ghost bearing the resemblance of a young Natalie Portman hovering in the Southwest corner of the main room.
